dRecipe©

As from 20th December 2002 every food item offered for sale in Australia must include compliant nutrient and ingredient labels. www.foodstandards.gov.au/foodstandardscode/

Appsoft’s dRecipe© is an IBM PC based application designed to enable any food manufacturer to generate these labels easily and accurately.
Features include:

  • User may request ingredient weights for a quantity of the finished product.
  • dRecipe© assists with production cost calculations.
  • Password protection of recipe formulations.
  • Basic recipes that are used as the basis for other products may be tagged as ingredients, (or Generic recipes). No limit to generic embedding depth.
  • The ability to generate a nutrient or ingredient panel graphic file for any selected recipe. This file (graphic) may then be included in other commercial label printing or word processing artwork.
  • The ability to determine which of the items in the ingredient list should include a contents percentage indication.
  • A “Common Name” database for all ingredients.
  • Foreground and background colours for headers and body text in both the nutrient and ingredient panels are selectable.
  • Small scale users are not limited to expensive label printers.
  • An import facility for new ingredients, used to import new custom ingredients that AppSoft supplies as new data becomes available.
  • dRecipe© integrates seamlessly with Seagull Scientific's "Bartender" label software to drive a wide range of commercial label printers.
  • Small businesses that sell their products to the public over their own counter, or businesses that sell their products to large supermarkets (who label their own) need only use the unique Specification Report function in dRecipe©.  No other labelling mechanisms are then required.
  • All reports (including the Product Specification Report) auto generate named PDF files for emailing to clients.
  • Photographs of all products may be stored in the Recipe database for inclusion in the Specification report.
  • The new 1.7.0 (all editions) also integrates with Avery's DesignPro A4 sheet label printer permitting small businesses who need printed labels to use a simple low cost laser or inkjet printer to produce their labels. DesignPro supports barcodes, however barcodes must be entered manually, and are not configurable from within dRecipe©.
DesignPro 3.5 is now included free on each dRecipe© distribution (Sample) CD
    .
The standard edition of 1.7.0 sells for $499.00 ex GST.
  • Appsoft has released a new tutorial CD for dRecipe© (June 15th 2004).  This CD auto-runs on insertion into the CD reader, and covers most aspects of setting up and running the program, not only making it much easier for prospective users to choose the best version for their situation, but also a breeze to get up and running once a purchase has been made.

  • From version 2.0.0, dRecipe© can be configured to print labels in any of 4 different languages, one of which is always English, while the other three may be chosen by the user (provided that the keyboard being used supports each chosen language).
  • New In Store Promotion poster released ( click here to View Report )
Version 2.1.0, released 09/02/2005 introduces a new report that will generate either A4 or A3 size documents (printer permitting) for in-store promotion. For those wanting to produce A3 displays, a special 2 page, joinable A4 printout is available. The poster features a top half page image of the selected product with up to 3 colour selectable text overlays for labelling and pricing. The lower half page includes nutrition, allergen and ingredient information. A company logo is placed in the bottom right of the page. As with all other reports, PDF files are generated for distribution to remote sites.
  • New In Store Product database search facility (for Allergens and specific ingredients)
Version 2.2.0 (released 03/03/2005) includes a great new facility that allows the database of products to be searched for specifuc ingredients and allergens. This means that a customer can ask "What products do you make that DO NOT CONTAIN Soy or Garlic, as I'm allergic to them?". Simply select these items (if they are listed) from the ingredient and allergen grid (or manually enter them in the field provided), and a list of products that don't contain them will be displayed immediately.
If necessary, then click on the Print button to give a hard copy to the customer.
This facility was originally custom designed for Standom Smallgoods Pty Ltd (in South Australia), and they have kindly permitted us to include it in dRecipe for general distribution.
(Facility only available in L, E, LLB and ELB versions)
  • Change in version control and costing (14/04/2006)
The Light versions of dRecipe have now been discontinued and the Pro version price has been slashed to $499.00 ex GST.
