Program Updates
The most current program executable file and it's associated version file (an excerpt of which is displayed below) is available here for existing users. 

New users, or existing users who want to replace their entire install may now download a limited install package. This install package is a cut down version which does NOT include the CD version tutorial.

To download the full installation (30Mb).. Click here (dial-up users should not consider this option).

The main dRecipe Program (the "executable") is only 3Mb, and this is provided for those wishing to update to the current version.

 Version updates are now available as a update patch which may either be copied to the user's computer and then run later, or simply run from this web site.

Labels may now be printed directly to BarTender Label printer driver (no cutting and pasting).

With the introduction of version 1.6.0 all product photographs are now stored in the database itself.  Photograph importing has been greatly simplified.

From version 1.7.0, users of Avery Dennison's  DesignPro 3.5 and 4.0 may also use the dRecipe export database as an ODBC source to print labels.  http://www.averyproducts.com.au/au/home/home.jsp 

June 15, 2004 :- DesignPro 3.5 is now included on the dRecipe distribution CD. Please note that DesignPro cannot be used in ODBC mode to update label Bar Codes direct from dRecipe. Manual mode must be used.

August 12, 2004 :- A new documentation updater is now available in the Downloads\Documentation folder.
Click on UpdateDocs.exe and select the "Open" option button to install all the latest documentation for dRecipe.

September 27, 2004 :- Version 2.0.0 introduces the ability to produce labels in any one of 4 different languages (English is always one of these languages). The user may determine what 3 additional languages are generated, and provides the translation so that special dialects are catered for.

NEW: May 28, 2005 :-

• By default, no report watermarks as used, however Lauke or EOI watermarks can be turned on from within user options. Custom user watermarks can be selected.

Downloading nutrition databases

The data being offered here has been obtained as the result of a collaborative effort between dRecipe^© users, third party suppliers and Appsoft System Solutions Pty Ltd and is included for the mutual benefit of all users.

To download any of the databases listed below, simply click on the links provided.

Available NOW: 
Two new nutrient databases containing all of Ausnut Special Edition Database - Release(3).
Further information may be obtained about the source data used for these new databases is available from http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/mediareleasespublications/nutritionpanelcalculator/ .

• AusNutCore.mdb
  There are 1780 core foods.  These are generally used when preparing recipes, such as flour, sugar, butter etc.  They include single ingredient foods, simple multi-ingredient foods, and food industry ingredients/additives.  Also included are core ingredients that have been cooked without fat.  Specifically, they fall into three main groups as follows.
  • Core foods, most of which contain only one or two ingredients, including a range of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and reconstituted beverages, cereals, eggs, fats and oils, seafood (including seafood canned in both brine and oil), fruit, meat, milk, nuts and seeds (including oil roasted nuts and seeds), simple snack foods and vegetables.  Included are cooked and canned versions of the above without added fat;
  • Simple multi-ingredient foods such as mixed drinks, bread, pasta, pastry (unfilled), fats, plain dairy products, dressings and sauces; and
  • Ingredients/additives specific to commercial manufacture such as maltodextrin and monosodium L-glutamate.
    
• AusNutMixed.mdb
  2264 foods.  These include complete multi-ingredient foods such as fibre enriched and fortified breads, biscuits and buns, breakfast cereals, cakes, slices and other baked goods, takeaway meals such as pizzas and hamburgers, meat, seafood and vegetable based meals, reconstituted milks and flavoured dairy products, soups and simmer sauces, snack foods and confectionary.  Also included are core ingredients that have been cooked with added fat i.e. those that include the terms 'fat added in cooking', 'fried', 'deep fried' and 'stir fry'.

2.4.4 (21/06/2007)

• When Potassium and Fibre omitted, if Sodium over 999mg, clipping of label occurred. Length of field increased by 4 characters.

2.4.3 (29/03/2007)

• " days in cool, dry, packed conditions" text in HACCP section of Spec Report has now been suppressed when no day number has been entered in the Spec screen entry field.
• Up to three different HACCP logos may now be displayed in the Spec report (side-by-side). The main logo is intended to be located on the far right margin. Logos 2 and 3 are progressively displayed further to the left.

• Fixed bug in Specification sheet reporting. When multiple products were selected, the resulting report displayed a summation of each set of ingredients, rapidly growing as the report was paged from first to the last.

• Improved error trapping in export routines from Specification screen.
• Fixed unreported bug in Recipe screen. If when entering a new recipe, after all fields had been entered and the save button had become enabled, it was possible to delete the recipe name, leaving the save button still enabled and then to subsequently save the faulty recipe.
• Fixed cross-link between Supplier and Common Name editors that (on a few installations) caused faulty load conditions.

• Error messaging for ingredients in inventory screen and generic pricing update have been improved to specify affected product names instead of product numbers.
• New Search and reporting facility added. Selection of an allergen or ingredient, displays and optionally prints a report listing all recipes (products) that DO NOT contain those items. (Available only in LB, EB, E and L versions).

• New report added. An editable full A4 or A3 page report of captioned (half page) product photograph including nutrient panel, alergy declaration and ingredient listing. Company logo also included. • Modified the Nutrient Panel screen so that the two (/100g and /serve) data columns are separately selectable. This improves transfer flexibility and enables communications with a greater range of layout design products. Also changed the wording in the headers for the first column to make the column narrower, thus enabling slightly smaller labels to be produced.

• Recipe screen now remembers which recipe was being access last time, and selects that recipe next time the screen is loaded. If a different database is selected, the recipe memory is cleared.
• Inventory now checks to see if an inventory item is already in the database, thus preventing a duplicate entry, if an attempt to enter a duplicate item is detected, the existing item is selected and displayed.

• Added multi-language (English + 3) support for printing labels. Specification report remains English only.
• Added Supplier edit/entry screen so that suppliers only need to be selected from the inventory screen.

• Added code to prevent more than one instance of dRecipe from being loaded on the same machine at any one time.
• Improved warnings in Specification screen. Administrator needs to be logged on to edit data.

1.7.6 (19/07/2004)

• Nutrient panel in graphics mode was displaced 1.5cm down screen due to an oversite.
  It had not been repositioned after debugging another problem.
• Backup function since aproximately version 1.7.0 was disabled because of a typographic error in the installer.
• A new backup RESTORE function has now been included where all files of type MDB, JPG, BMP, BTW and PDF are restored in the Application path and the current Data path. Installing this upgrade will also correct the 1.7.0 typo error.
• Added ability to remove Potassium and Fibre from the nutrient information exported to bartender and DesignPro.
• Added new field to Export database. "AfterProcess" is the Afterbake weight in the bakery version of dRecipe.
• 20/08/2004 - Added error recovery logic to file pathing (for backup system)
• 31/08/2004 - Fixed bug in forward date calculation for 'Best before' in Specification screen.

• Changed search routine for Bartender and DesignPro ensure that all available drives are checked (beginning with drive C:) instead of only searching drives C: and D:.

• In Specification Screen, now prevents Period (Days/Weeks/Months) combo from being selected until BestBefore period (text) has been set. Incremental lookup now operational on Period selection control.

• Plant overhead value had ceased to save when Save button had been made default. Fixed.

• Added tab delimited export text file containing same information as dRtoBT.mdb, and generated when Bartender export is performed, for use by MCL enabled stand-alone printers.

• Corrected minor logic error related to addition of warnings. (Saved blanks - with no added text - in recipe table were erroneously triggering warning text additions).

• Corrected minor bug in Recipe screen warnings. Existing characters in a field that were deleted with the delete or backspace key were not activating the save button.

• Added version (level) into "About" screen (now reads dRecipe (LLB) version 1.7.4 instead of dRecipe version 1.7.4)

• Added UseByDate calculator to Specification screen - to be used with DesignPro and BarTender label fields.

• Import screen is now able to display disclaimer notices for any nutrition (Import) database that has been selected.

• Added ability to enter a hidden non-break-space where multiple words are used in an Inventory Declaration statement. Use Alt-255 to add this special character instead of the spacebar - causes multiple words to be considered as a single word in the warnings statement, with a comma separating entries.

• Fixed bug in Path setting. Where the user was using a photographic database, and changed the datapath to a non-photographic database, the menu item to flag that database as photographic was not available unless the program was re-started.

• Bug fixed in auto warning statement. Where multiple words were separated by dashes or underscores, and were capitalised, duplicate declarations were produced with words following the dash being converted to lower case.

  This has also been used in two light versions of dRecipe that do not support BarTender.

• Database is scanned for entry errors prior to updating the export database dRtoBt.mdb (for Bartender). Errors are written to a text file in the \dRecipe folder, and displayed for printing with the MS-Notepad application.
  This report is also available to non-Bartender users.

• Corrected error report when running nutrient panel with very high sodium content recipe.

• Auto-update of suggested serving size changed to be active only during entry of a new recipe instead of during editing of an existing recipe.

• Windows registry entries now relocated to permit installation on Microsoft Terminal Server 2003.

• Menu access was not previously fully refreshed after registration. Fixed.

• Database-path file naming was tightened to prevent incorrect database load being attempted.

• Application was crashing when a Bartender label was requested before a valid Bartender path had been set. dRecipe now checks for a valid path prior to each print. If a valid path is not found, it scans the computer for Bartender's location and saves the path ready for subsequent use.

• Added new feature in Specification screen.  Each time a report is viewed, a new file is generated in a folder called "PDF" under the current database folder.  This file uses the name of the selected recipe, and is of type PDF (Portable Document File).  This enables the user to email specification reports to clients, and for the client to view and print the specification.

• To update to this version it is necessary to load a program "PATCH" called Patch150x.exe where x relates to "L" for the Laucke watermark version, or "E" for the EOI (Unilever) watermark version.
  The patch may be run from the current location, or downloaded to a temporary location on your machine, and run from there.

• Incorrect handling of deleted Generic. Recipe was still marked as Generic after Generic status was revoked.

• Recipe table was not being completely updated when a generic was removed from the Inventory table.

• Editing of all fields except Common name in Ingredient screen is now disabled when a Generic ingredient is being displayed. These fields are all updated automatically under program control.

• Promotion of an empty recipe to Generic status now blocked, both at creation, and at a later time.

• Hilighting of ingredient detail rows in recipe screen changed to permit generic items to show even while that generic row is selected, and to allow ingredient grouping colours to show.

• Changes made in 1.3.14 to fix a label printer foible caused the formatting of the first column of the specification report nutrition panel to malfunction. Both methods now behave.

• dRecipe now checks any database that is opened via the datapath setting for all structural updates before opening any other screen.

• The last modified notification for each recipe was moved to display with recipe Id to optimise screen real-estate usage.

• Bartender was sending a formatting command to the label printer that was being displayed in the printed label.  Changed dRecipe export database formatting method to prevent this.

1.3.13 (13/10/2003

• Updating of BarTender templates is now restricted to the Specification screen. Users are now able to force an over-write of an existing single, or group of recipe template/s from the this screen as well as being able to create templates for any new recipes.

• Found small bug in recipe contents screen. When an ingredient was deleted from a recipe, and the user immediately changed to the inventory screen without clicking on another ingredient row, the app crashed. Fixed.

• Improved display precision in Basic recipe screen and report.

  • Display criteria now: >= 20Kg, 0 decimal points. >= 10Kg and < 20Kg, 1 decimal point. < 10Kg, 2 decimal points.

  • Yield request field will now calculate part units (to allow more precise allowance for batch variance).

  • Now possible to request a batch weight OR a yield quantity in Basic screen,

• Recipe screen - When required batch is changed, on-screen warning indicates "Temp Batch Set", and save button no longer activates.

• Added custom web browser with auto-connect to Appsoft site.

• In Inventory screen, the Declaration field is now disabled when a Generic ingredient is selected. All Declarations must be made for base ingredients only.

• Error rectified in Recipe main screen in initial release of 1.3.9 (20/08/2003).   Auto-calculation of Suggested serving size was not functioning.

• Ingredient Panel checkbox in Ingredient list edit grid would not save correctly unless it's row was first selected. Fixed.

• When inadequate data from USDA was imported, occasionally the Inventory display failed. Fixed.

• When Unilever ingredients are deleted from the inventory, hidden common names are now also deleted.

1.3.7 (24/07/2003)

• Added new field to Inventory (Declaration). This contains names of any substances included in an inventory item for which food warnings must be issued. Code now automatically scans all products used by each recipe and determines what warnings must be issued. The warning information is published in the Specification report, and in exported data to BarTender.

• Changed method of identifying the target computer (for registration purposes). Some machines were unable to accept the supplied unlock key with version 1.3.5.

1.3.5 (06/06/2003)

• Added password protection for all databases that are supplied for import (other than the initial databases in the series dInventory01..02 etc.). Only registered versions of dRecipe can now access these databases.

• Changed 'Update Export' buttons in Nutrition and Ingredient panel screens to update all fields no matter from which screen the update is run.

• The selection grid in both Nutrient and Ingredient panel screens now indicates whether each recipe is an End Product or a Generic.  Only End Products may be used to generate a label

• Improved folder creation routines for setting up multiple databases when using BarTender.

1.3.3 (14/05/2003)

• If BarTender has been installed and it's location has been confirmed in dRecipe, when a different database location is selected, dRecipe copies the master format file (if it has been created) - but does not over-write an existing copy - to the new data location so that a new series of labels (with changed logos etc.) can be created for the products listed in this data source.

• Changed view in path setting screens to permit the export database and master format file to be displayed where appropriate.

• Added ability to view ANZFA food regulation documentation from the "Documentation" menu.

1.3.2 (12/05/2003)

• Deleting a recipe before generating a new label format file (entering one of the label format screens, and selecting the recipe) caused a 'file not found' message and subsequent crash. Fixed.

• Version 1.3.1 always assumed that the BarTender label formats would be in a folder directly under dRecipe. 
  1.3.2 adds a new 'Format' folder under the location of the database which is currently in use.

1.3.1 (19/04/2003)

• Added autocreate of a new database (dRtoBT.mdb). The database stores each recipe ingredient and nutrient label while they are being viewed in either of the panel generation screens. The data is then available for auto export of label information to Seagull Scientific's "BarTender" label formatting software. Any required label may then be selected from the dRtoBT database from Bartender.  The dRtoBT.Mdb database will be created in the same location as the current dRecipe.Mdb database. (Data location).

• Added printer buttons in both panel generation screens to Automatically call the BarTender Print dialog screen (if it is available) to directly print a label for the currently selected Recipe.

• Added new pathing option. dRecipe searches for BarTender on the C: drive and records it's location for subsequent use when printing labels.

• Save before printing to BarTender now activated so that when serialisation of labels is enabled, last used serial number is saved.

• Modified Method edit field in the Main Recipe screen to ensure that a multiline entry is correctly displayed (not partly hidden).

• Added incremental search for inventory items in inventory editor.

• Changed behaviour of inventory screen on return from recipe lines tab so that data on a selected ingredient line will automatically be displayed.

• Ingredient display order may now be switched between Original Entry and Requested Group order in Recipe Lines Tab and in Working Recipes screen (including Printout)

1.3.0 (09/04/2003)

• Import screen procedures changed to incorporate Unilever data. Specific ingredient information is provided and is made read-only in dRecipe. Users prevented from editing Unilever common names in Inventory screen, and in Common Name editor, Unilever data is not visible.

• Graphic references to flour have been removed from screens and reports when operating in Butchery mode.

• Improved checks on ingredient addition measurement (weight or percent) method.

• Added item "Best Before" to Specification sheet Date method selection list.

• Added dBackup registration to the dRecipe registration (both products now included in the original purchase price).
  Old registered versions of dRecipe will still update to the latest version, and dBackup will self-register if it is installed later.  Old unregistered versions of both may be over-written with the new versions and will register correctly as a single application.

• Please note:  If dBackup has not been previously installed (CD installation versions 1.2.4 onwards automatically included dBackup), the file "SetupdBackup.exe" must be downloaded and run on the local machine to install the application.  If it has already been installed, then either dBackup 1.0.2.zip or dBackup 1.0.2.exe may be used to update to the latest version.

• Updated initial path setting for new installations.

• Optional display of Generics in Specifications setup form. These are coloured Cyan (light blue) when switched on.

• When a row was selected in the Inventory, the Recipe tab selected, then the Inventory tab re-selected, even though the same row was highlighted, the data for the first row in the inventory was being displayed. Edits were saved to the highlighted row. Fixed.
